eConsult Will Be Unavailable Over The Weekend and On Public Holidays

We will be switching eConsult off every weekend and on public holidays while the surgery is closed, On these dates you will be unable to send eConsults from 6:30pm on Friday evening until 08:00am Monday morning (or Tuesday morning in the case of Public Holidays). Top Tips for eConsult use

1. Try to chose the specific medical condition you wish to consult about - if you know or are fairly certain what condition you are suffering from please select "I want help for my condition" and then pick the condition from the list. This provides us with the most appropriate information for your condition.  You may find some questions seem repetitive but please answer as fully as possible – they help inform the doctor who is reviewing your information.

2. Please include nominated pharmacy if a prescription is likely to be required - If you think the doctor may prescribe medication for you please include the name of your preferred pharmacy when answering this section. This will help us to direct your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. Prescriptions cannot be collected from the surgery during the Covid 19 pandemic.

3. To attach a photo you must pick a specific condition.  Please include a photograph whenever you think it will be useful.  This is especially important if you have a rash so we can more easily reach a diagnosis.  Select "I want help for my condition" and then select either:
    a. Any of the dermatology type conditions (e.g. acne, rash, hives, eczema, warts etc)
    b. Breast problems for both men and women,
    c. Cold/flu , or
    d. Eye-based templates

Please see the video below to help you to attach a photo to the eConsult.

4. Try to chose General Advice only when your condition is unknown or it does not fit into any of the condition categories.

Online Consultations
With the ever growing pressures on GP surgeries and national shortage of GP's current GP practices are continually looking for ways to improve access to meet demand and allocate correctly the type of service or advice your condition requires.

We have now introduced an online service called eConsult. eConsult has several functions. It can help you with self diagnosis using its symptom checker and self-help information. It can help you determine the most appropriate place to go with your condition - which may be your local pharmacy or the national 111 help line, and it provides a mechanism to submit a secure eConsult direct to the GP of your choice.

Please click on the link below for a video of how this service works for you
